Automobiles, The Amazing Race and Somewhere Between (a documentary of girls
adopted from China,
a real tearjerker).
van, some days by train and others by plane. Our days were jam packed. I think
we fit 20 days into 10! To say it was an amazing life changing trip does not
adequately describe my experience.
2 A time to give birth, and a time to die; A time to plant, and a time to uproot what is planted.
3 A time to kill, and a time to heal; A time to tear down, and a time to build up.
4 A time to weep, and a time to laugh; A time to mourn, and a time to dance.
5 A time to throw stones, and a time to gather stones; A time to embrace, and a time to shun embracing.
6 A time to search, and a time to give up as lost; A time to keep, and a time to throw away.
7 A time to tear apart, and a time to sew together; A time to be silent, and a time to speak.
8 A time to love, and a time to hate; A time for war, and a time for peace.
9 What profit is there to the worker from that in which he toils? 10 I have seen the task which God has given the sons of men with which to occupy themselves. 11 He has made everything appropriate in its time. He has also set eternity in their heart, yet so that man will not find out the work which God has done from the beginning even to the end. 12 I know that there is nothing better for them than to rejoice and to do good in one’s lifetime; 13 moreover, that every man who eats and drinks sees good in all his labor, it is the gift of God. 14 I know that everything God does will remain forever; there is nothing to add to it and there is nothing to take from it, for God has so worked that men should fear Him. 15 That which is has been already, and that which will be has already been, for God seeks what has passed by.”
changed my heart towards my girls and given me a better understanding of where
they came from. I have such a deep respect for them…..what they endured and the
places their hearts will go in the future. I came on this trip to help Pearl River further
their goal and also to bring a piece of Janie’s past back with me. I did not
expect to bring a piece of Madeline’s past with me as well…..
experience, from meeting Janie’s foster parents to loving on some precious
little ones who deserve to have a family of
their own. I am amazed by the human spirit God has given us. I got to
see first hand the difference in a child’s eyes when cared for by a foster parent
as opposed to being in an orphanage, truly a different light in their eyes……
NOT to do in China…..we
were definitely the “blonde” brigade! We have so many wonderful memories from
this life changing trip….I’m sure Julie is still sleeping after getting rid of
us!!!
Bless you precious friend!!! I told Lori I couldn't wait for you all to process and share your heart. I also know there are things that just can't be put into words~ that is much of China for me… there just aren't words. Thank you for sharing what your heart allows. We are ALL sitting on every word!!! Love you sweet friend! XOXO
So you are the first one coherent enough from jetlag to blog huh? 🙂 I know you ladies were on quite the rollercoaster of emotions and experiences over there. I am so glad the trip helped you to see your girls in a different light. Can't wait to see how God uses Pearl River Outreach in the future. It is truly changing lives!!!
Paige,
When I read vs. 4 it describes so much of what we experienced…. What a privilege it was to experience some of the heart breaking revelations we did together.. I love your amazing heart my friend… Madeline and Janie are so blessed to have a Mama that loves them so deeply.. Even deeper now after our journey together!
Love,
Diana
