I have tried to write this post for weeks but could not make myself do it. Every time I sat down to post John David’s senior spring break I felt sad, sat there a minute looking at the screen….and closed it with a sigh.
Today I feel different. Regardless of this quarantine, these kids have something to celebrate…it may not be in the way we thought it would go, but they still have each other and will for years to come. My prayer for them is that this time bands them together in ways we could not have previously imagined.
Sooooo…after much discussion, meetings, emails etc about spring break we landed upon Branson Missouri as opposed to Turks and Caicos. Haha! It came down to money since the kids were already going on a sailing trip with Young Life in May. But boo! It too has been cancelled as of now. They are trying to reschedule it later in the summer, fingers crossed!!
We rented an awesome cabin on the lake. The kids and moms had a great time. While there, all the talk of buying toilet paper and such was becoming a thing…and a THING it became ugh!

The Moms celebrating Shelly’s brithday 🎂

Lots of kids can cram in a hot tub ha!

I don’t remember the name of the game they were playing, but they were in it to win in!

Notice anything in the sand?

I made them take a picture without noticing Max’s head behind them🤣😂🤣😂

This was such a special time for them…who knew they would not go back to school???

We made them take lots of pics before we left, and I’m so thankful we did!!

The long weekend was the perfect spring break ☀️

Sweet boy/man..don’t all Moms say that about their boys? I am thankful for this quarantine for the extra time spent with him and the rest of the crew at home. Goodness I miss my other kiddos badly!
As the saying goes…this too shall pass…each day brings a new day and new mercies.
Lamentations 3:22-23
The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases, his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.
