I never finished posting about our full weekend when Gardner and Kendyl were able to visit for Janie’s birthday and Mother’s Day!
We continued to celebrate Janie….you know how those birthday weeks go on and on and on? 🙂
I bought tickets to Shen Yun…the girls have asked to go for years but the shows were only available on weeknights at 7:30 so that was not happening. It just so happened that Shen Yun was in town over the weekend right after Janie’s birthday so it was the perfect time to finally go.
I have lots of feelings about the show…it was a bit propagandaish. I don’t think that is even a word but it fits the feeling of the show ha! While the performance was quite beautiful the theme was very anti-communism (I get that…and those feelings run deep for me as well since my girls became mine due to communism); and a bit new ageish (another made up word).
While I share the feelings I had about the show, I loved seeing my girls witness the beauty of their birth country through pictures and amazing dances. The show led to many conversations with my girls about the reasons people leave their countries due to communism and religious persecution. Good stuff…the conversations, not communism and religious persecution!

This was Janie two minutes on the road after the show:)

Another birthday dinner that evening whoop whoop 🙂

We came back home for ice cream cake…haha typical Janie, so many expressions!

The next day we celebrated Mother’s Day by going downtown and eating at one of our favorite restaurants.

We are THAT family that plays with all the new things….

John David is a gorgeous girl haha!

I’m not an attractive guy!

I think this is Gardner again??

Now Hank is just plain ole creepy 🙂 haha!!
Can you tell I’m so entertained by my family? We were laughing so hard at all the pics!

On to the Peabody Rooftop and our elevator picture. We are missing Allie as she was out of town for a meeting boo!

Just cause…

Then the kids gave me my present…it was one for the books!

They paid for Chris Harrison to make a video wishing me a happy Mother’s Day hahaha! I’d show the entire thing here if I could figure out how to download it, jokes on me. Apparently it is a “thing” to have Chris Harrison to make special videos for peeps, who knew?
We had such a nice afternoon together. I never in a million years imagined myself the mother of SEVEN. I absolutely adore the ways of the Lord 🙂
