Once again John David made his cuts to go to Tennessee State Swimming Championships. It is always a fun meet, but we learned this year that it is more fun in Knoxville as opposed to Nashville where it was held this year. Nashville is super convenient as far as driving and walking to the pool…but the pool does not have the awesome space and viewing for spectators that UT has. Here’s to hoping UT gets the bid for next year!
Their school has a “walk out” where students cheer them on to State as they leave to load the bus.

The Junior boys. Luke, Sam and John David. I loved getting to know these boys over the weekend!

All the boys! John David, Sam, Ethan, Will and Luke.

John David and Ethan have been swimming club together since they were in 6th and 7th grades so obviously they are great friends!

Day one 200 free

John David and Ethan were side by side and a sweet friend got great pics for us.

love this pic!

The finish…I love the looks on their faces:). John David did not make it to finals but Ethan did (yay Ethan!). JD decided not to train as hard this year and just swim the school meets. After this race I was apprehensive he would regret his decision…He had a great race and dropped time but I was afraid he would be disappointed he did not make finals. Just sayin…Mom’s worry too much! He was thrilled he had a best time and did NOT have to swim finals that evening haha! I say good for him, he is in such a good place making great decisions for his future and enjoying being involved in other activities while cutting back on time in the pool.
Meanwhile back at home….Caitlin kept the girls on Thursday, Julianne Friday and Allie on Saturday. It takes a village:)

All the doodle cousins ha!

I think Madeline is excited Allie is teaching her to draw anime.

Janie too:)

Janie went to a friend’s birthday party so Madeline and Allie went to a movie and Hobby Lobby. Yes, they made jungle portraits while shopping Hobby Lobby:)

Back at the meet, these boys were racing the 400 free relay at finals. Two of the boys had been sick on Thursday and Friday and showed up big for their relay on Saturday. They were so happy to make it to finals.

Can you see how tired the boys are to the side? John David was last leg, in last place, caught and passed the swimmer….it was so fun to watch!

Happy boys with their photo bomber friend ha!

These two are being sweet to their mama’s letting us get a pic

We were so proud of these boys pulling off this race not once but twice finishing with another best time that evening. Good times!
