When Madeline turned 12 I took her to Universal for a few days. Sooooo, Janie was all about taking a trip for her 12th birthday as well. That is until Covid happened and it needed to be delayed.
Apparently when a delay occurs we go bigger and better. Janie decided on the Bahamas for the weather and water rides and wanted to take her sister along for the ride 🙂

Our first pic before leaving our room to wander the resort and go to dinner.

Virgin pina coladas ordered and checking it all out. The grounds were beautiful!

This was Janie’s favorite meal, give the girl rice and she is uber happy 🙂

Each night the staff sang Happy Birthday to her!

Acting all cool on the casino floor…how do you play when you don’t know how or have any interest?

The park was great. There were no long waits so we went over and over again. I did not get any pics of the super high slides since I could not take my phone with me.

When in the Bahamas act like the Statue of Liberty right?!

I may have bought myself an afternoon drink when the girls were ready to go back to the room at 3:00 because they were “bored”….sigh. Teenage years have all kinds or angst right?! I chose to stay at the beach and have a quiet moment haha!

We ate at a Mexican restaurant this evening and it was my favorite!

We watched fireworks from our balcony as Janie filmed them.

I scoped out some chairs early for our last day so we came and went from the pool instead of the beach.

The koi pond was Janie’s favorite of the entire resort. We stopped and watched them every time we walked by. And speaking of walking…I walked 10 miles one day just going back and forth to the room in the morning and then back and forth from the park to the pool.

Last dinner pic, I think we forgot to take a pic the night before!

Janie’s birthday dessert was fun for the last night. We went to a steak restuarant which is another fave of Janie’s. We ate so much that night!

Taking in the magnificent sight haha!

Last pic by the beoved koi pond. We shopped around a bit before going back to pack up for our trip home. We had such a nice trip.
Well, other than me being a bit anxious regarding our covid testing and all of that nonsense. The next morning at the airport, Janie asked me why we all needed to wear masks since you are not allowed to travel without a negative covid test.
Good question Jane…out of the mouths of babes right?!
Thankfully we had no real travel issues. It was great to celebrate Janie Jane!

The celebration continued at home the next morning since it was officially her birthday 🙂

Hank ordered her cake, thankfully since I forgot before I left town.
When I picked it up I must have smiled weirdly because the sweet girl asked me if it was ok. I assured her it was as I laughed inside.
Who orders a girl red flowers? Hank does…and without her name on it. He laughed out loud when I called him and said he has never noticed a name on any birthday cake hahahaha!
Hank was the real winner though because we would not have had a cake without him 😂

Janie’s big ole celebration ended perfectly for her…her whole family (minus JD at school) and a few games before everyone headed home.
Happy 13th birthday Janie, you are loved dearly by all sweet girl!
