Madeline has taken up some iphone photography with Arthur being her subject:). She sent this picture to me today and it meant more to me than she understands ha!

This was me all last week after elbow surgery…yes my second one. Thankfully this one was not as bad as my first one. At my 7 day follow up appoinment I asked what I can do to prevent this.. my doctor said “nothing, bad genetics”. Well both elbows have been done now so hopefully I’m done whew!! Over this past week I thought “I’m so bored” quite a few times …so of course I laughed out loud when Madeline sent me her pic! I did not even ask my doctor the length of my recovery this time seeing as it is what it is…just gotta go with it…or so that is my mantra to this busy mind of mine!
This surgery was the fire under my rear to get shopping and all things Christmas done. I have watched all the Hallmark movies so there is that productivity going on haha. Honestly the girls are loving my new obsession and my lack of movement!
Our pastor this morning asked us “what is that line in the sand you have drawn where you say no to God?” Like being a missionary in a foreign country to not being willing to serve… anything in your life you hold tightly. While I intimately know the call to our 3 girls and our answer to each of those calls…I also know there are areas I choose not to look at where I draw my lines. As I was dwelling on where I have said yes, I laughed at myself over how hard this past week has been for me. I don’t like pain, or being dependent on others for all my needs, or being still, or bored. I like my days to have a plan, a sort of semblance and routine…all my ducks in a row. So yeah, I have said yes but I also have drawn lines.
Today I will ponder my lines and pray that God will loosen my hold of the ordinary day…open my hands to Him in willingness to honor the still place He has me in.
Psalm 46:10
He says, “Be still, and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”
And for a bit of cuteness….

Little Janie went to her first ice skating and sleepover party:). She was a mess when I picked her up this morning ha! Five hours of sleep will do that to you! She just woke up after a 4 hour nap. Next up her first piano recital this afternoon!
