The swimming season is officially over for John David…bittersweet to say the least for all of us. He has had a great run in this sport and we have enjoyed following along beside him.
I only have group pictures since I was unable to go but we were able to watch via live stream. Halle, Julianne and I cheered him on during his finals!

Halle tried to stay awake for her uncle but could not muster the strength haha!!

These four boys represented our school and have been swimming together since their freshman year. We had no idea what these boys would do with their relays but they gave us such a sweet surprise!

The State team ready to board the bus to Knoxville

Doesn’t John David look thrilled that his mom wants a picture with the goody bags? 🙂

Group pic with their State jackets on 🙂

John David made it to finals in his 200 free prelims. He swam his heart out that evening as well.

He placed as an alternate for the 100 free and was happy with his time. He had all best times during this meet whoop!

These boys rocked their relay that day and made finals! They were seeded 27th and dropped 5 seconds (I think?) and placed 11th for finals. They placed 11th again that night, only to hear that they were DQ’d for a false start. I’ve stated before that swimming can be cutthroat…the boys took it in stride and celebrated anyway. 🙂
So…John David is done with swimming, maybe for now, maybe forever. He is already starting Water Polo and we are HERE for that as well.
Great job John David! We could not be more proud of you. I so love watching your determination and work ethic as your pursue the things you love.
