~Thanksgiving 2016~

In my do-over life I will be prepared haha
like remember to take pictures on Thanksgiving kind of prepared
I did not take one picture

oh how I still love bitmojis and love to annoy my kids with them:)

We had such a nice Thanksgiving
Granddaddy came to visit and the girls were precious
what more can a Mom ask for!

After the crazy of getting everthing ready
I actually sat around all afternoon watching games and playing headbands
and enjoying my peeps
and agreeing to go with John David and Carly to Target at 6:00 on the dot
oh wait I do have a pic of that hahaha

that would be me in line in Target with my houseshoes on...
cracks me up that they match my sweater
John David was obsessed with a TV that was on sale and had enough money so what is a mom to do but take him...
trust me there were more entertaining people than me haha

this is the only pic I took at home
Goldbug sporting a manbun
except she is a girl so I guess it would just be called a bun but that is boring!

Happy Thanksgiving from our family to yours!

Life of an Old Mom

You know you are an old Mom when your den looks like this
Some things just have to be let go to survive 😂

Goodness I have gotten behind again due to the harsh reality that days just keep slipping by
I start each week with a plan in mind and apparently it never goes that way haha
~some days I laugh it off and some I just roll my eyes~

Ok so Halloween was enjoyed again!
we took our redneck trailer pulled by the tractor around the neighborhood as usual
this year I was not on my A game and got very few pictures
~I think I sat back and enjoyed all that was going on around me instead of trying to snap pics~
thankfully other moms were on their A game and sent me pics!

the weekend before Halloween we had a reunion of sorts with John David's friends and their families
we used to go out to Tom's farm every year from kindergarten on and had not for the past few years...
they may be older but they still love it:)

Janie was Little Red Riding Hood and Tyler just happened to be a wolf haha

our crew trying to leave the house

this sweet police officer gave all the kids candy:)

the sorting/counting aftermath

and just because I love this more than words.........

Washing Off the Mud

I'm sure most of you are better at this than I am but I tend to get "stuck" in my circumstances...
I need to have bible verses around my house, on my phone and of course reading my bible
to keep me from sitting in the mud of life
we all have mud in our lives...

I will be the first to admit that I worry about my Madeline
(as I do for all my children yikes)
I'm always "working" on getting through the day
waiting for the other shoe to drop that many days never drops....
but I have myself in a mental place to expect that drop
therefore  I expend A LOT of energy waiting for the unknown
otherwise known as my own man made mud

Yesterday I had a lightbulb moment while praying for Madeline
"God has a plan for Madeline, He placed her exactly where he wants her, He is in charge"
why do I as her mother think I am so powerful to mess her up or not make the correct decision?
so often my thoughts are my mud

Proverbs 19:21
"Many are the plans in a person's heart, but it is the Lord's purpose that prevails."

In my mud,
I have to remember that the Lord's purpose prevails in all things
He has a purpose for each one of us which obviously includes my child
(keep losing sight of that!!)

2 Timothy 1:9
"He has saved us and called us to a holy life-not because of anything we have done but because of His own purpose and grace."

I'm washing off my mud for the day thankful to rest in his grace yet again:)
