What Can An Oreo McFlurry Get You????

A happy pose for Mommy and perfect behavior in the doctor's office. Thank goodness we were in and out in 55 minutes!!

These are from the other day, shows what I am up against as far as messes. My attitude is so much better now that we are sleeping:)

About Janie:
She is easy to please
Has only thrown a few fits and never directed at me, just mad in general
She has a smile like none other
She laughs with abandon
She can give a good evil eye
She does not like to tee tee on the potty right now???
Her eyes light up if you give her chicken wings
She will hold her oreo Mcflurry since her sister has one, but does not eat it:)
She can play on a play set like she has every day of her life
She does not like the trampoline
She gets exctited and says big brother and big sister in Chinese when we get in the car, thinking we are going to get them at school
She tells me long stories in Chinese, what I would give to know what she is saying!
She sings and sways to music
She is so loved........

This Is What I Wanted.....

My sweet friend Michelle told me a few months ago, that even though this journey was hard God has given me everything I prayed for. Now I can say He gave me more than I prayed for!! We got a full nights sleep last night and she has done so great today alone with me. I have so enjoyed having her all to myself. She is so sweet and is repeating so much of what I say. She already calls the dogs Odie and Goldbug!

I have been so lame taking pictures of the bigs with Janie!!! Just a few. I will catch up with pics over Easter weekend when Julianne comes home again!

And We're Back!!!!!

We are home!!!! We had the easiest travel home, even in coach for 14 hours. Just a few melt downs by Madeline but all in all very good. We only slept about 2 or 3 hours total but everyone did well until our flight was delayed only an hour, but that hour brought out bickering among kids and parents:) I think I whined as much as Madeline by the time we got on that plane!!

Last night was a little rough but to be expected. Janie was scared of her room and finally went to sleep in Madeline's room. We had been advised by Madeline's therapist to separate them for a while when we first get home, oh well!! She lasted until 1:30 and cried and cried. We finally ended up where we began the evening inthe first place, in her bed but she was not crying:) Poor baby. She would start breathing heavy, jerk awake and touch me to make sure I was there. I think we both finally fell asleep around 4:00. I got up at 10:00, Janie is still OUT!!

Thank you Courtney and Michelle for a great dinner and a wonderful homecoming!!! Thank you Carson and Kayley for the welcome home signs!!!!!

I will end by thanking my sweet husband for listening to me beg for this child and being willing to travel across the world to bring her home. Our Lord has blessed us greatly and we will forever be thankful for His grace and mercy upon us. He knew all along, we just did not. He promised me He knows what is best and I am amazed by the gift He chose to give us.

This verse has spoken to me throughout this past year to Sarah Jane.

1 Thessalonians 5:24
The one who calls you is faithful and he will do it!

That He did!!

Planes, Trains and Automobiles.......

We made it to Hong Kong via train around 7:00 this evening. It was not bad at all. We did a test run with all our luggage from our room to the lobby this afternoon to see how bad it really was going to be:) Our guide Kelli helped with Madeline and Janie through the train station but we were good to go by the time she left us. We already miss her!!

Mom, Hong Kong reminds me so much of Panama. Really pretty and busy. We are at our hotel via a small Toyota cab and all our luggage. If the driver could understand us he would have reported us, Madeline stood up eleventy billion times, Janie pooped again, Madeline was touching John David, John David was touching Madeline, Madeline stood up eleventy billion times, repeat. For a day that was super easy, we made up for it on a 20 minute cab ride!!! The hotel is great, never ever traveling without the executive floor again!!

Our plane takes off at 11:00 a.m. We have been blessed in every way this trip. Every single thing has gone well. I truly dreaded the train ride and getting all the luggage and 3 kids and it was no biggie. Tomorrow should be LONG but I think we are up to it due to the fact we are going home. YAY!! I have to say this has been a wonderful, blessed trip.

Janie has been doing so great. Today on the train she started singing to me, she was standing in the aisle. All of a sudden, she got the saddest look on her face, closed her eyes and put her arms over her eyes. She would not let Hank or me hold her. We think she was thinking about her foster mother, she must have sung that song with her. This lasted a few minutes and then she was back to her happy self. So much going on in her little mind. Please continue to pray for her as we leave all she knows. She is so very resilient, sweet, smart, precious and brave. We love her with all our hearts and are thankful to be bringing her home.

Thank you for following along with us and for your prayers which we know have been many!!!!
I will try to post a few pics when we get home:)

Consulate Appointment, Baby Baby, First Kiss and Hank's Obsession

Today was a wonderful last day in Guangzhou. I think our attitude is great since we see the light at the end of the tunnel, plus not much Whinese today as my friend Kate says:)

Our consulate appointment was at 10:00 and went so smoothly. Paperwork this time around has been a breeze compared to last time. Maybe 10 minutes per province was spent compared to hours in 2007.

looking for food before breakfast

Madeline's faces today crack me up!

We are all in love with "baby baby" as she has been called until she was named Alyssa Gwendolyn on adoption day. We are traveling with her mother Michelle and Aunt Bridgette who have waited on baby  baby for 6 long years. Needless to say, todays consulate appointment was a sweet tear jerker!

We went on to the Shifu area with Michelle and Bridgette for lunch and then on to Hank's obsession which he has dragged Michelle into. We went with Ann AGAIN to look at pearls ect!!! Allie, Julianne and Kendyl this time Hank's obsession will serve you well. We also got Madeline and Janie cute jade bracelets. They are so proud:)

After the consulate appointment

a little unsure....

squid on a stick anyone????

Chicken feet????

John David's joy turned to hearbreak when we realized we were sold a fake....lesson learned in China, got our money back:)

the girls got into Daddy's obsession...

John David, not so much.....

I am not exaggerating, He is TOTALLY into a deal!!!!!!

This picture is the sight of God's work. All of my closest friends know how Hank has struggled to step out in faith for this special child that we did not have many answers for. He decided it was better to follow my lead and trust that God knew what He was doing.....yet he struggled. Here is his gift from God for being obedient. This child loves her Baba and gave him the first kiss today, yes I am a little jealous but I'm sure it will come for me as well. We are in awe of God's goodness to us in giving us this precocious, sweet child. She is such a joy!! Of course I got a pic of the first kiss:)

So very sweet!!!!!

This trip has been much easier than our trip in 2007 mainly in how far China has come in these past years. It is much more comfortable to travel in this country now. The people have been so very sweet to us and smile and give us a thumbs up when they see the girls. Truly special!!
